New Zealand has a number of foreign representatives from countries around the world who work in embassies and high commissions (an embassy houses one nation’s diplomatic mission to another nation, while a high commission is the equivalent for one Commonwealth nation’s diplomatic mission to another Commonwealth nation.)
Countries usually send diplomats and representatives to New Zealand to serve as a contact back to their country and to help immigrants and tourists with immigration processes, official paperwork and emergencies.
There is a list of foreign representatives in New Zealand available online at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade website (MFAT).
A number of High Commissions have websites, including;
British High Commission
High Commission for India
Australian High Commission
Malaysian High Commission
Papua New Guinea High Commission
Cook Islands High Commission
Fiji High Commission
New Zealand has a number of representatives in other countries too. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade website and the NZ Embassy website both list our diplomatic representatives overseas. You can go to them for help if you get into difficulties when you are overseas.
