CAB Language Link is a national service provided by Citizens Advice Bureaux New Zealand (CABNZ). We provide this service to ensure that language is not a barrier to anyone who wants to access our service, no matter where in the country they are.
You can contact them on 09 624 2550, 0800 78 88 77 or language@cab.org.nz.
At CAB Language Link we have a team of CAB trained workers offering the CAB service in over 20 different languages, including English. They provide the core CAB service of information, advice and support, including an interpreting service.
The service, like all CAB services, is free.
The English service is available on Monday – Friday 9am – 4pm. Not all other languages are available all the time. To see when the service is available in your language please refer to the CAB Language Link
roster (PDF document, 206 KB).
To access the service, read the information in your language to find out the appropriate phone extension number or email address. If no-one is available when you contact them by phone you can leave a message and someone will contact you.
The volunteers at your local bureau may also speak a variety of languages. If you’re not sure, just ask.
Resources in your Language
We also have information about your rights in a variety of languages; search our database for service providers and resources in your language e.g. Arabic, Korean etc.
You can also find a list of useful resources in a range of languages on the Settlement Services website of Immigration New Zealand.
