Citizens Advice Bureau Whangarei started in 1974 and has moved around the city several times before settling in the Old Town Hall, now called the Municipal Building, which was built in 1912.
We usually have about 40 volunteers who in a team of three work a half day shift each week. Three part time staff cover administration, updating local information, and providing specialist support for beneficiaries. The bureau is run by the volunteers who work here, and we meet the standard of service audited annually, set by CABNZ.
We are based in wheelchair friendly offices in the ground floor of the building at 71 Bank St, and are open from 9am till 4.30pm Monday to Friday. There is a bus stop outside the building and we are in the central city area.
Our offices are on the first floor of the magnificent Old Municipal Building at 71 Bank Street in the city centre.
