About this bureau

Citizens Advice Bureau Queenstown is located on the corner of Stanley and Ballarat Streets below the town’s famous historic sequoia trees.

Our friendly team of around 40 trained volunteers provides a free information and referral service for everyone whether living locally or visiting from overseas. Language is no barrier as we have volunteers who can speak English, French, Korean and Japanese. We also have direct access to CAB  Language Link with interpreters in 26 languages.

We can help with access to Justices of the Peace (JPs), free legal advice and budgeting advice. We have contact details for hundreds of community groups and organisations and can provide information and publications relating to:

  • Tenancy and housing
  • Consumer issues
  • Employment
  • Immigration
  • Personal/family
  • Education

You will always receive a warm welcome and be greeted by a team of volunteers committed to helping you find the right answers. Not sure? Ask us.

During its first year of operation in 1989 Queenstown Citizens Advice Bureau handled around 1000 enquiries. In recent years the number has reached almost 5000. We moved to our current site (the former town library) in 2000 and are extremely grateful to QLDC for the continued use of the premises.

The Queenstown Citizens Advice Bureau is open Monday to Friday 9.30am – 4.30pm.
