Makeovers for CAB’s services for people new to New Zealand 


Our two migrant and refugee-focused services have had a makeover and new names, making it even easier for new New Zealanders to know their rights and entitlements in New Zealand.

Migrant Connect
Migrant Connect is the new name for our service that provides information and support for new migrants.

If you are new to New Zealand you probably have many questions. When you talk to someone at a Migrant Connect service you will be talking to a friendly local who knows their community and is trained to help. We also hold regular information sessions where anyone can come to learn more about a particular aspect of settling into your local community, ask questions and meet other new Kiwis.

Migrant Connect is provided in 30 locations around New Zealand. To find a Migrant Connect location near you visit our Migrant Connect page.

Language Connect
CAB Language Link, which provides the CAB service in more than 20 languages, has been renamed Language Connect. This new name reflects the fact that this service is available to anyone in New Zealand, and anyone trying to assist them, when language is a barrier. 

If you have difficulty in speaking or understanding English, you can contact Language Connect for help in your own language, whether you have a question about immigration, employment, housing, income support, education, health and wellbeing or something else.
